BANGOR, Maine - The Husson University field hockey team pick up a 2-1 victory over Thomas (Maine) in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) East Division action on Saturday night at Winkin Sports Complex.
Husson (2-3,1-0 NAC East) jumped on to the board early when Kerianne Downing took a pass from Mikayla Toth and shot the ball into the lower left corner of the cage to give the Eagles a 1-0 lead at the 20:10 mark before Taylor Lovley extended the Eagle to 2-0 two minutes and 41 seconds later.
Katie Taylor would get Thomas (2-6,0-1 NAC East) on the board with 2:21 remaining in the first half to close out the scoring in the game.
Kaitlin Dolloff stopped five of the six shots she faced on the night, while Abbie Charrier made three for the Terriers.
The Eagles outshot the Terriers, 17-8.
Husson returns to action on Tuesday when they travel to Standish to take on Saint Joseph's (Maine) in a 3:30 p.m. non-conference game, while Thomas returns home tomorrow for a 1:00 p.m. contest with Kean.
