Ellis Throckmorton enters his first season as the assistant defensive line coach at Husson in 2017.

Prior to joining the Eagle coaching staff, Throckmorton was a four-year letterwinner as a member of the Husson football team as a linebacker from 2013-16 and was known as the “ironman” of the squad as he never missed a practice, a game and a lift in his four years due to his work ethic and his physical presence was immeasurable felt every day.

Throckmorton registered 316 (168-148) tackles, an average of 7.7 tackles per game, 11.5 sacks, 46 tackles of loss, six forced fumbles, five fumble recoveries, eight pass breakups and three interceptions in 41 career games played.

The four-time All-Eastern Collegeiate Football Conference (ECFC) selection is the program’s all-time career leader in assisted tackles (148) and games played, and is ranked second in tackles, quarterback hurries (11), and fumbles forced, tied for second in fumbles recovered, third in unassisted tackles (168), and tackles for loss, tied for third in interception return touchdowns (1), tied for sixth in quarterback sacks, eighth in yards from tackles for loss, and tenth in interception return yards (71), and yards from sacks (68).

Throckmorton, a two-time captain, helped guide the Eagles to a 29-12 overall record with three ECFC Regular Season titles in 2014, 2015, and 2016, two ECFC Championships and berths to the NCAA Division III National Championship Tournament in 2014 and 2016, while helping the 2016 team set the single-season program record for wins with nine.

He was named to the All-Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) North Region team in 2014 and a Preseason All-American selection by the American College Football Network (ACFN) in 2016.

Off the field, Throckmorton was named to the ECFC All-Academic Squad in 2014, 2015, and 2016 and to the National Football Foundation (NFF) Hampshire Honor Society in 2016, while being a recipient of the Eagle Award following his senior campaign.

Throckmorton earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Husson in 2017.

A native of Bangor, Maine, Throckmorton attended Bangor High School.
