GAME ONE – Colby-Sawyer 2, Husson 1

The visitors put a run up in the top of the third when sophomore Nick Guerrette (Hermon, Maine) singled home junior Mike Wong (Lewiston, Maine) who led off the frame with a single of his own.

Husson sophomore hurler Jesse Colford (Bangor, Maine) held the Colby-Sawyer bats in check allowing just two hits over the first six innings.

The Chargers doubled their hit total in the seventh and came back with two runs for the walk-off victory. Freshman Charlie Danaher (Guilford, Conn.) led off the inning with a single to center. Senior Drew Inglesi (Franklin, Mass.) attempted a sacrifice bunt and reached on a bad throw from the third baseman, which also sent pinch-runner Brendan Barrett (Nashua, N.H.) to third. As Barrett was heading towards third, another bad throw from the first baseman allowed him to score the tying run. After Inglesi advanced to third on a groundout, sophomore Tim Unczur (Danvers, Mass.) was called upon to pinch hit and he delivered a base hit to right center that scored Inglesi with the walk-off win.

Colby-Sawyer freshman Noah Yeingst (Middleboro, Mass.) tossed a complete game, allowing just the one run, to earn his first collegiate victory.

Colford took the loss for the Eagles with 6.1 innings of work and no earned runs.

Husson junior Alex Chapman (Westford, Vt.) led all players with two hits.

GAME TWO – Husson 2, Colby-Sawyer 1

Husson struck first again in game two with a run in the top of the second. Junior Luke Covey (Milton, Vt.) led the inning off with a walk. He stole second and advanced to third on an error. With a squeeze bunt play on, Covey broke for home and scored after the pitch got away.

The Eagles took a 2-0 lead in the sixth inning on an RBI single from Mike Wong.

Colby-Sawyer got a run back in the bottom half of the six on a sacrifice fly from senior Joey Fenuccio (Keene, N.H.) that scored senior Dougie Avellino (Woodstock, Vt.).

The Chargers tried to mount a two-out rally in their final at-bat getting two runners to reach on a walk and a hit by pitch, by Husson was able to get out of the jam.

Senior Cody Collins (Bangor, Maine) earned the complete game victory for Husson giving up one run on three hits with six strikeouts.
