BANGOR, Maine— Saint Joseph's College (11-2) defeated Husson University (6-6) by a score of 3-2 in 10 innings on Thursday afternoon at Harold Alfond Diamond. Jared Gagne of Saint Joseph's drove in the game winning run.

In the top of the 2nd inning, Saint Joseph's broke the 0-0 tie. Noah McDaniel led off the inning with a hard earned walk. He advanced to third throughout the inning. Jacob White, with two outs, smacked a 2-0 pitch through the left side of the infield. McDaniel crossed home giving the Monks a 1-0 lead.

Saint Joseph's College extended their lead in the top of the 3rd inning with a RBI single by Taylor Black. Joey Murphy had reached earlier on a well executed bunt. Max McCoomb moved Murphy over with a sacrifice bunt. Murphy then advanced to third on a wild pitch by Husson's Ben Walls. Black did the rest and pushed the lead to 2-0.

Husson evened the score in the bottom of the frame. Alex Chapman started the inning with a single. He reached third base on two separate wild pitches. Ryan Rebar drove Chapman home on a groundrule double to left center. Christian Corneil continued his hot stretch with a triple down the right field line. Rebar scored on the triple to even the score at 2-2.

In the top of the 10th inning, the Monks wasted little time scoring runs. Dan Donovan, a pinch hitter, lined the first pitch he saw to the centerfield fence for a stand-up double. The next batter, Jared Gagne, also swung at the first pitch and also hit a double. Donovan's pinch runner, Dawson Renaud, came around to score. The Monks would hold onto their 3-2 lead for the extra inning win.

Ben Walls threw 9 innings for the Eagles. He allowed two runs, eight hits, and struck out four. AJ Purcell was credited with the loss. He allowed the game winning run in the top of the 10th inning. Ryan Rebar and Christian Corneil had the two Husson RBI. Alex Chapman scored a run in the losing effort.

Matt Demma allowed two runs over his 2.2 innings of work. Josh Partridge earned his second win of the year of while pitching the 9th and 10th innings and striking out two. Jared Gagne had the game winning RBI in the top of the 10th inning. Taylor Black and Jacob White had the other two RBI in the win.
