BANGOR, Maine — Husson University has announced its Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2026, which includes outstanding former Husson athletes who distinguished themselves among their peers.
The Class of 2026 will include Frank Curran '22; Kerianne Downing '17 '19G; Jen Jones '20 '22G; Lance Libby '07; Victoria McIntyre '16 '19G; Tyler Muzzy '10; Alex Young '15 and the 2017-18 Men's Golf Team.
The seven individuals and one team will be celebrated at an induction ceremony at The Gracie Theater on the Husson University campus on Friday, Oct. 2.
"We are excited to announce the selection of the 2026 class into the Husson University Sports Hall of Fame. This prestigious honor recognizes the exceptional achievements of student-athletes who have significantly contributed to their respective sports and the university," said Husson Sports Hall of Fame Committee Chairman Bobby Campbell.
The 2026 inductees will join an elite membership of 279 student-athletes, coaches, administrators, contributors and teams who have previously been inducted in the Husson Sports Hall of Fame since 1985.
"The Husson Sports Hall of Fame celebrates the individuals and teams whose dedication, excellence and competitive success have helped shape the proud tradition of Husson Athletics," said Executive Director of Athletics Christopher Parsons. "This year's class represents the very best of what it means to be an Eagle, not only because of their accomplishments on the field, court, course and track, but also because of the lasting impact they have had on our athletic department and our university."
Frank Curran '22
A terrorizing force on the defensive line for the Husson University football program, Frank Curran played for Husson from 2017 through 2021.
A 2017 American College Football Network Freshman All-American, Curran was also tabbed a Hansen Ratings All-ECFC selection and an All-Conference honoree after a standout freshman season.
During his senior season, Curran earned Noontime Sports All-New England Team honors, was named a D3football.com All-Region selection, Conference Defensive Lineman of the Year, an All-Conference honoree and the Husson Football Eagle Award recipient.
A four-time all-conference selection for his career, Curran finished his storied career with 208 total tackles, recording 108 solo and 100 assisted stops, in addition to 42 tackles for loss, including 18 sacks, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, one interception, 21 quarterback hurries, four pass breakups and one blocked kick.
Currently, Curran ranks ninth all-time in total tackles, sixth all-time in assisted tackles, tied for fifth all-time in tackles for loss and tied for fourth all-time in sacks.
During his career, Curran helped the Eagles to back-to-back Eastern Collegiate Football Conference championships in 2017-18, in addition to being a part of the Husson team that upset No. 19/No. 20 Springfield College on the road in the first round of the NCAA Division III Football National Championship.
Curran earned his bachelor of science degree in business administration with a concentration in marketing management from Husson in 2022.
A native of Portland, Maine, Curran attended Cheverus High School.
Kerianne Downing '17 '19G
Kerianne Downing starred for the Husson University women's track & field team from 2013 through 2017.
A two-time North Atlantic Conference champion in the 100-meter hurdles, Downing also captured a conference title in the high jump and won the 2016 New England Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championship in the event.
Throughout her career, Downing was a two-time All-New England honoree in the heptathlon, while also earning All-Conference honors in the 100-meter hurdles twice, in addition to the high jump.
The program record holder in the high jump (1.54 meters) and the heptathlon (3835), Downing has six placements in various events that rank inside the all-time top 10 for Husson indoor track & field and five placements that rank inside the all-time top 10 for outdoor track & field.
In addition to being named Conference Senior Scholar Athlete in 2017, Downing totaled five event wins, 36 top five finishes and 69 top 10 finishes in her career, while also earning the Outdoor Track & Field Eagle Award in 2014.
During her time as an Eagle, Downing helped the women's track & field team earn its first-ever NAC title in 2015.
Downing earned her bachelor of science degree in kinesiology with a concentration in human movement sciences from Husson in 2017 and a master's degree in physical therapy from Husson in 2019.
A native of Dedham, Massachusetts, Downing attended Dedham High School.
Jen Jones '20 '22G
One of the most dominating presences in the circle in Husson University softball history, Jen Jones donned the green and gold from 2017 to 2022.
A three-time NAC pitcher of the year, Jones was also named a National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Region honoree twice, in addition to earning Outstanding Player honors at the 2021 NCAA Division III Softball Bangor, Maine Regional.
A four-time all-conference selection, Jones was also a four-time NAC all-tournament team member, a one-time NAC tournament MVP and a two-time NCAA Regional All-Tournament team member.
The 2018-19 Clara Swan Female Athlete of the Year, Jones also garnered recognition off the field, earning College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honors and ECAC President's Honor Roll recognition.
Currently, Jones ranks first all-time in program history in wins, innings pitched, strikeouts and appearances, while also ranking second in saves and fifth in ERA, in addition to throwing one of the six perfect games in Husson softball history, one of the two immaculate innings in program history and one of the 21 no-hitters.
For her career, Jones totaled a 59-27 record in her 107 appearances, including 77 starts, while adding 65 complete games, 17 shutouts, four saves, a 2.79 ERA, 643 strikeouts and a .226 batting average against in the circle.
In addition to her steady presence in the circle, Jones also compiled a .353 batting average in 255 at-bats, recording 20 doubles, one triple and five home runs, while adding 57 RBIs, 48 runs scored and 38 walks.
Jones was an essential part of the beginning of Husson's latest softball dynasty, helping the Eagles win four NAC titles, in addition to being a part of Husson's first-ever squad that hosted an NCAA Regional in 2021.
Jones earned her bachelor of science degree in kinesiology with a concentration in human movement sciences from Husson in 2020 and a master's degree in physical therapy from Husson in 2022.
A native of Acton, Maine, Jones attended Sanford High School.
Lance Libby '07
Lance Libby made his presence known for the Husson University men's golf team, putting together an accolade-rich career for the Eagles from 2003 to 2007.
A two-time New England Intercollegiate Golf Association All-New England honoree, Libby was also a two-time Maine Intercollegiate All-State selection during his time as an Eagle.
A four-time all-conference team member, Libby has his name all over the men's golf record book at Husson, ranking tied for fourth in tournament wins, third in top five finishes, tied for fourth in top 10 finishes, tied for ninth in rounds played, seventh in overall wins and 10th in win-loss percentage all-time at the time of his induction.
Additionally, Libby ranks tied for sixth in tournament wins, tied for third and tied for fifth in top five finishes, tied for second in top 10 finishes and fifth for win-loss percentage in a single-season for the Eagles.
Libby posted a 77.02 scoring average for his career, competing in 50 tournaments and 73.5 rounds played over his four years. Libby amassed six par or better rounds, nine tournament wins, 28 top five finishes and 32 top 10 finishes in his career, while recording a 69 as his lowest career round played.
Libby played a major role in Husson's team success during his time at Husson, helping the Eagles win three State of Maine championships, three New England championships and three NAC championships, while also being a part of the first team in program history to compete at the NCAA Tournament in 2007.
Libby earned his bachelor of science degree in business administration with a concentration in sport management from Husson in 2007.
Victoria McIntyre '16 '19G
A steady scoring presence and reliable defender for the Husson University women's basketball team, Victoria McIntyre suited up for the Eagles from 2012 to 2016.
A D3hoops.com All-Region team selection in 2016, McIntyre earned Conference Player of the Year honors that same season, in addition to being selected to participate in the New England Women's Basketball Association Senior All-Star Game that year.
A two-time all-conference selection for her career, McIntyre was also named to the NAC All-Tournament team once and was voted the Clara Swan Female Athlete of the Year recipient in 2015-16, while also earning the Husson women's basketball Eagle Award for three-consecutive seasons from 2014-16.
In addition to being one of Husson's 28 1,000-point scorers in women's basketball, McIntyre also has her name cemented in the women's basketball record book, ranking 18th all-time in points, tied for 11th in rebounds and tied for 18th in rebounds per game.
For her career, McIntyre recorded 1,077 points, 632 rebounds, 156 assists, 154 steals and 43 blocks in 106 games played, including 101 starts. Additionally, McIntyre posted a 32.6% field goal percentage, a 28.6% three-point percentage and a 72.5% free throw percentage.
McIntyre helped the Eagles win the NAC championship in 2016, which helped kickstart a run of five-consecutive NAC titles for the Eagles.
McIntyre earned her bachelor of science degree in kinesiology with a concentration in human movement sciences from Husson in 2016 and a master's degree in physical therapy from Husson in 2019.
A native of Mars Hill, Maine, McIntyre attended Central Aroostook High School.
Tyler Muzzy '10
Tyler Muzzy graced the hardwood inside Newman Gymnasium for the Husson University men's basketball team from 2003 to 2007.
A New England Basketball Coaches Association Division III Senior All-Star Game selection in 2007, Muzzy also garnered Maine Men's Basketball Coaches and Writers Association All-State honors and an all-conference spot during his final year in the green and gold.
A two-time MMBCWA All-State honoree for his career, Muzzy was also a two-time all-conference selection and a two-time conference all-tournament team member for the Eagles.
One of Husson's 55 1,000-point scorers, Muzzy also tied the third-highest scoring performance in the NCAA-era of Husson men's basketball, totaling 35 points during his senior season against Lesley University.
For his career, Muzzy totaled 1,289 points, 653 rebounds, 168 assists, 142 steals and 15 blocks in 94 games played, making 74 starts. Additionally, Muzzy recorded a 44.5% field goal percentage, a 27.1% three-point percentage and a 64.7% free throw percentage.
Muzzy earned his bachelor of science degree in criminal justice from Husson in 2010.
A native of Greenville, Maine, Muzzy attended Greenville Consolidated School.
Alex Young '15
One of the fiercest offensive linemen in the history of the Husson University football program, Alex Young played for Husson from 2010 to 2011 and 2013 to 2014.
An American Coaches Football Network Preseason All-American and All-American selection in 2014, Young was also selected to the Noontime Sports Maine Team of the Decade for 2010-19.
Additionally, Young garnered Conference Offensive Lineman of the Year honors in 2014 and All-Conference honors in 2013 and 2014.
Young suited up on the offensive line for Husson 32 times during his four years, making 27 starts.
During his final season as an Eagle, Young helped start the winning culture that was maintained within the Husson program throughout the latter half of the 2010s, as the Eagles captured the first of their five-consecutive Eastern Collegiate Football Conference championships during Young's senior season in 2014.
Young earned his bachelor of science degree in business administration with a concentration in sport management from Husson in 2015.
A native of South Thomaston, Maine, Young attended Rockland High School.
2017-18 Men's Golf
The 2017-18 Husson men's golf team put together one of the most successful seasons ever in the history of the Husson University men's golf program, winning the NAC championship, the New England Intercollegiate Golf Association championship and the Maine State championship.
The Eagles won every tournament they competed in during the fall, in addition to defeating Saint Joseph's College of Maine in a head-to-head matchup, while also finishing second at the prestigious Camp LeJeune Intercollegiate championship and winning the Johnson & Wales Wildcat Spring Invitational.
Additionally, Husson tied for 19th at the NCAA Championships, missing the team cut by one stroke while recording what remains the highest NCAA Championship finish in program history.
Husson placed all five varsity team members on the NAC All-Conference team that season under head coach Mike Dugas, with Gavin Dugas earning Conference Golfer of the Year and Eric Dugas was named Conference Rookie of the Year and earned Division III All-America Honorable Mention honors and E. Dugas, Mackenzie Clow and Daulton Wickenden were all selected to the Division III PING All-Region team.
Additionally, Wickenden was inducted into the Husson Sports Hall of Fame as an individual in 2024.
The 2017-18 team ranks third all-time in program history in single-season scoring average with a 302.73 four-person average, in addition to ranking tied for seventh in tournament wins in a season and also holding the lowest 36-hole team score by a four-person team at the time of its induction.
