The Husson University Sports Information Office handles all the media and public relations for the Eagles' 22 varsity athletic teams, two spirit teams, and over 500 student-athletes. Husson Sports Information maintains the Husson University Athletics website and social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram), produces game-day programs for home athletic events, special event programs, team media guides, special event graphic designs and promotional materials (schedule cards, posters, splash pages, etc.), and writes game releases on each of the Eagles' athletic contests, which are distributed to state, regional and national media outlets. The office also maintains, researches, and supervises the collection of school records and manages each teams' statistical data in order to report to the North Atlantic Conference, Great Northeast Athletic Conference, Empire 8 Conference, Eastern Collegiate Football Conference, ECAC, NCAA, and other league affiliations.
All interview requests for coaches, administrators, or student-athletes should be made through Husson's Sports Information Office. Every effort will be made to fulfill any requests within a timely manner. Requests for the Husson Athletic Logos, photographs, and/or game-day credentials should also be made through Husson Sports Information.
Securing Gameday Credentials
Husson does not offer online credentialing for home games. Email credential requests to [email protected]. All applications will be notified of their status at least two days before the gameday. Credentials can be picked up on gamedays in the Sports Information Office, which is located in the William P. Newman Athletic Facility.
Credentials are issued to official photographers (who have been cleared by the Husson Sports Information Office) and members of the working media only. Parents and relatives of student-athletes, as well as non-official photographers are not permitted to be on the sidelines for photography purposes for any Husson University Athletics sport or venue.
All requests for interviews must be made through the Husson Sports Information Office, regardless of previous relationships with student-athletes or with the coach. Requests must be made at least one day in advance to allow the student-athlete or coach to be properly notified. If a telephone interview is necessary, arrangements can be made for the student-athlete to contact the media member. Student-athlete phone numbers will never be issued to media members by the Sports Information Office.
Interviews with Husson student-athletes and head coaches will take place following the NCAA mandated 10-minute cooling-off period. All Husson team locker rooms are closed to the media both for home and road contests. Husson Sports Information Office will assist in securing media members with post-game interviews. Interviews with opposing players must be arranged with the opposing team’s sports information personnel or through Husson’s Sports Information Office or the team’s head coach in their absence.
