Student-Athlete Advisory Committee

What is a Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC)?
A student-athlete advisory committee (SAAC) is a committee made up of student-athletes assembled to provide insight on the student-athlete experience. The SAAC also offers input on the rules, regulations and policies that affect student-athletes' lives on NCAA member institution campuses.

Presently, there are separate national SAACs for NCAA Divisions I, II and III. NCAA legislation mandates that all member institutions have SAACs on their respective campuses. Further, NCAA legislation requires that all member conferences have SAACs.

Division III SAAC Mission Statement
The mission of the NCAA Division III Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is to enhance the total student-athlete experience by promoting opportunity for all student-athletes; protecting student-athlete welfare; and fostering a positive student-athlete image, while maintaining the tenants of teh Division III philosophy.

SAAC "You Can Play"
The Division III Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) has engaged in discussions around inclusion for student-athletes within the LGBTQ community. The committee’s conversations focused on ensuring that all Division III student-athletes experience a quality and respectful athletics experience, regardless of sexual orientation. The You Can Play Project works to guarantee that athletes are given a fair opportunity to compete, and be valued only by what they contribute to their sport or their team’s success.
