     Janine A. Gmitter, MS, LATC

Janine enters her 14th year as the Head Athletic Trainer at Husson University in 2017-18 but has been on the Husson campus since 2001 working various summer camps. 

Along with being the Head Athletic Trainer, Janine also became an Associate Athletic Director and Senior Woman Administrator in 2010.  She also teaches as an adjunct professor in the University's College of Business.

Before coming to Husson, Janine spent four years as the Head Athletic Trainer and Physical Education Instructor at Atlantic High School in Port Orange, FL. 

Janine was a four-year member and three-year letter winner at guard on the women's basketball team at Waynesburg College from 1994-98 and earned a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training in 1998.  She earned a Master’s degree in Athletic Training from Ohio University in 2000.

Janine is the primary contact for football and men’s and women’s lacrosse.

Janine currently resides in Brewer, Maine.

 

 

       Evan Paradis, LATC

Evan Paradis has worked part time as an athletic trainer for Husson since 2012 but was hired as a full time employee in 2014.  He is the primary contact for women's volleyball, women’s basketball, and baseball and the secordary contact for football.

Before employment at Husson, Evan worked for Belfast Area High School, John Bapst High School, Select Physical Therapy, and Philip Pouzol Physical Therapy.

Evan earned his Bachelor of Science degree in athletic training from the University of Maine in 2012.

Evan is born and raised local and currently resides in Old Town, Maine.

Mason Roy enters his second year in 2017-18 as an Assistant Athletic Trainer and his third overall on the staff.  He is the primary contact for men’s and women’s soccer, field hockey, women's tennis, men’s basketball and softball.

Mason served as an athletic training assistant at Husson through Select Medical Company from 2014-2016.

Mason also worked as the athletic trainer for John Bapst Memorial High School in 2015-16.

Mason earned a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from the University of New England in 2014. As an undergraduate, he had clinical rotations at New England and Bowdoin College. Mason was also the President of the Athletic Training Club.

A native of Gorham, Maine, Mason attended Gorham High School.

Justin enters his second year in 2017-18 as an Assistant Athletic Trainer. 

Justin serves as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at Husson through Select Medical Company.  Justin is also an Athletic Trainer for John Bapst Memorial High School.

Justin earned a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from the University of New England in 2016. As an undergraduate, he had clinical rotations at Biddeford High School, South Portland High School, and had an internship with the Portland Pirates.      

A native of Walden Vermont, Justin attended St. Johnsbury Academy High School.

Kristina Buck enters her second year as an Athletic Training Assistant in 2017-18.

Kristina earned a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from the University of New England in 2016 and is pursuing a Doctor of Physical Therapy at Husson As an undergraduate, she had clinical rotations at University of New England, Saint Joseph's College of Maine, and SMHC Sports Performance Center in Saco, Maine.

A native of Farmingdale, Maine, Kristina attended Hall-Dale High School.

Chris Ouellette enters his second year as an Athletic Training Assistant in 2017-18.

Chris earned a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from the University of New England in 2016 and is pursuing a Doctor of Physical Therapy at Husson. As an undergraduate, he had clinical rotations at University of New England, Biddeford High School, Deering High School, Bonny Eagle High School, and Scarborough High Schools.

A native of Frenchville, Maine, Chris attended Wisdom High School.

Hunter Minicucci enters his first year as an Athletic Training Assistant in 2017-18.

Hunter earned a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from the University of New Hampshire in 2017 and is pursuing his Doctor of Physical Therapy at Husson University. As an undergraduate, he had clinical rotations at University of New Hampshire for Division 1 Men’s Hockey and Women’s Lacrosse, Oyster River High School and Rehab 3 Center for Athletes.

Ben Morris enters his second year in 2017-2018 as an Athletic Training Assistant.  Ben earned his Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology in 2016 from Husson University. He is currently in his final year of graduate school to receive his doctorate in physical therapy from Husson University. Before helping out in the athletic training department, Ben played four years on the men’s lacrosse team at Husson serving as captain for two years. 

A native of Gilford, New Hampshire.

 

 

     Derek Loupin

Derek is a physical therapist and center manager at Select Physical Therapy in Bangor. He is a 2002 graduate of Husson University and board certified in sports physical therapy. Derek works with local athletes of all skill levels, and has many years of general orthopaedic experience. He is the team physical therapist for the University of Maine and Husson University athletics, as well as our local high schools at Bangor High School and John Bapst High School.

DownEast Orthopedics has been the official orthopedic surgeons for Husson University since 2005.  Their sports medicine team is dedicated to the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of athletic and other related injuries. They have the only fellowship trained sports medicine physicians in the greater Bangor area.
